چکیده
This study aimed at investigating the potential of vegetation indices and precipitation-related variables derived from remote sensing to assess rangeland production in arid environment Moroccan Oriental region identifying challenges linked that particular biome. Vegetation (VIs) Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) computed various aggregation periods were first integrated into a Random Forest model. In second step, we studied more detail linear relationship between biomass one spectral (ARVI) for formations present area. We concluded that, mostly due presence alfa steppes (Stipa tenacissima), especially large proportion non-photosynthetic vegetation, it is not possible accurately estimate with global model this region. recommend separating Stipa tenacissima other species models focusing on methods studying dry improve quality prediction steppes.

Drought risk assessment in pasture arid Morocco through remote sensing
During the last three decades, Morocco has experienced several stern and extended episodes of drought that severely affected pasture production. To cope with this phenomenon, the policy makers have put emphasis on a reactive short term management approach rather than on pro-active risk-based management measures. The purpose of this study is the assessment of drought by remote sensing, which is ...
متن کاملIdentification of Invasive Species Using Remote Sensing and Vegetation Indices, (Case Study: Vazroud Rangelands, Iran)
Biological invasions form a major threat to the provision of ecosystems productsand services and can affect ecosystems across a wide spectrum of bioclimatic conditions. Therefore, it is important to systematically monitor the spread of species over broad regions. Ithas long been recognized that remote sensing and geographical information system couldcontribute to this capacity. This paper aims t...

Precipitation and air temperature data, only, are often recorded at meteorological stations, with radiation beingmeasured at very few weather stations, especially in developing countries. Therefore there arises a need for suitablemodels to estimate solar radiation for a completion of data sets. This paper is about an evaluation of eight models foran estimation of daily solar radiation (Q) from ...
متن کاملRemote sensing in BOREAS: Lessons learned
The Boreal Ecosystem Atmosphere Study (BOREAS) was a large, multiyear internationally supported study designed to improve our understanding of the boreal forest biome and its interactions with the atmosphere, biosphere, and the carbon cycle in the face of global climate change. In the initial phase of this study (early 1990s), remote sensing played a key role by providing products needed for pl...
